While visiting Alaska, I remember a local snarkily remarking that there are 2 seasons there – winter and August. It seems like August has been the one month you could pretty much count on good weather.
Well, this year, people in all the states I visited north of New Mexico have commented on how wet and cool it’s been. And here, in Montana, I came across snow … in August.
So much for the saying of “Winter and August”. What is ironic is that this happened in the the age of global warming, with many suggesting 2010 may be the warmest year yet on Planet Earth.
Go figure …
