Step #1 – Website and Small Business Essencing – First, we use a rigorous process of essencing to help you get clear about your offering and your customers. They we define clearly how the website will help you achieve your goals. From there, it will become clear what content you need to deliver, how your customers will likely navigate through your site, and what you need to include to achieve your goals. Invest in this before you build your website, or risk having to spend much, much more when you have to “do it over again”.
Step #2 – Create Content and Navigation – Next, we use the information from the essencing process to create the navigation and content to help you achieve your goals. Good navigation and flow means you build confidence in your customers find the information they are looking for with ease and speed.
They are then able to take in that information – be it writing, pictures, or video – in ways specific to the web. Content is succinct, scannable, uses key words in the right way, and helps people stay on the “information scent” they are on. Most importantly – your content tells them clearly about your solution that lets them know you solve their problem, and gets them to take action.
Step #3 – Build a great website you can control - Finally, if you don’t already have a webmaster, we’ll build a simple, flexible site that you can take control of. We use Wordpress + Thesis to create simple, yet powerful, website that you can edit or add text, pictures, and videos on. The design options are many, but – unless you want a very simple site – we prefer to work with a designer/artist to come up with the look and feel of your site.
